Proud Dad and Mom

Our middle man has now almost completed his first year or preschool.  Initially, Jeff and I were both nervous about sending him to school.  He is one that just likes to be home with mom and dad.  It is kind of sweet but we wanted Tyce to get the same great experiences at school as Jase did and still does.  Tyce has done nothing but shine since he has been in school.  He loves every part of it and his "uncooperative/moodiness" has improved so much.
We had conferences with his teacher on Monday night, and she had nothing but great things to say.  She showed us how much he has improved from the beginning of the year until now.  From everything such as how well he writes his name to how well his cutting has improved.  He is also doing great with patterns and recognizing numbers and letters.
We couldn't be prouder of our little guy.  It seems that school comes easy and feels so natural to him.  He has surprised us in so many good ways.  We went to lunch at Burger King today (his choice) to let him know how proud of him we are!

Here is his drawing of himself.  The picture on the right is after MAT MAN showed them how to draw themselves.  This was in the fall.  The picture on the left is what Tyce drew himself after his teachers asked him to!  

His cutting is amazing.  Those are the words of his teachers.  The told me it was basically perfect!  On the left you can see he had some issues with staying right on the lines.  One the right, the most recent, he cut a straight line with no help at all!  

He can write his name and it is legible!  

The patterns is what got me.  The top picture "assignment" was to follow the pattern after the teacher started it.  The beginning looks like me messed up, but Mrs. Geurts said he realized after he picked up the blue stamp it was wrong so it doesn't really count!  The bottom pattern is what amazed Jeff and myself.  His teacher asked them to pick TWO colors and doe a pattern with two colors.  My little Tycer picked 4 and was able to follow his own pattern with 4 colors.  This is something that most Kindergarten kids need help with.  This brought a smile to my face and even a tear to my eye!   

If you can read this you can seen he is a silly/creative little guy!  What a buddy!
