Tyce Charles Bates has arrived!

As most of you know we welcomed our baby boy, Tyce Charles, into this world on Monday 12/6. He weighed 8 lbs 9 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Quite different then Jase weighing in at 9 lbs 11 ounces and 22 inches long! All the nurses thought Tyce was quite a big boy, which yes he is, but we were used to much bigger!
We arrived at the hospital around 6:45 A.M. and Tyce was here within the hour! It was so exciting, nerve wracking and an emotional time all in one. Since it was a scheduled C-Section we had time to prepare so we tried to do that as much as possible but how do you prepare for a day like this!

Jase was able to meet Tyce the next day. Grandma Bates brought him to the hospital. He didn't really know what to think but he has been such a great help. Anytime Tyce gets fussy and cries, Jase is right by his side trying to figure out what is going on with him. It is the most precious thing. He is really taking on the big brother role.

We were able to come home finally on Friday. For some reason in small towns they keep you in the hospital longer and if you try to leave early they look at you like you are crazy. We took advantage of our time with Tyce and our time to sleep, but we were very ready to come home and start our lives with our new addition.

We have had an amazing family that has been helping us throughout the week and actually will be helping us throughout the next month since it is the holiday season. Grandma Bates and Aunt Jessica were here last week spending time with Jase and making 2 visits a day to the hospital so we could be with both Jase and Tyce. It was wonderful. Thank you so much for all your help Grandma Bates and Aunt Jessica.
Jase I know loved his time with you.

My parents are here for the weekend and my mom will be here next week helping me with things around here. With a C-section, my discharge instructions say I can't lift more then 10 pounds. Well lets say I have "tried" to not do this but it is so hard. I have a busy 20 month old!! I have had to take it easy the past couple of days though, so having the help is great! My sister Erin will be here next week for Christmas.

Tyce is doing great at home and we are loving every minute. He sleeps and eats a lot which babies will do! He has been doing fine at nights and I have actually been getting some sleep. My hubby has been nothing but the best as well. We work well as a team and have been so blessed with an amazing baby boy! Well enough talking for now! Enjoy some pictures!

Welcome to the World Tyce! We all love you so much! You hold a special place in all of our hearts!
